The System
Swisrail is a thin coat insulated render system specifically designed for use on framed buildings subject to NHBC approval. Swisrail incorporates a system of steel rails and channels to provide a 25mm drained cavity between the insulation and the steel frame to comply with NHBC guidelines. Swisrail is faced with Alumasc’s range of Silicone or Mineral renders which can be applied with rolled or dragged surface texture, in a wide range of colours.
The Swisrail external wall insulation system, with EPS insulation and lightweight Silicone render finish achieved an NHBC approved façade solution at the Osborne Apartments, Swansea.

Applications
New Build – NHBC compliant, tailored to lightweight frame construction
Construction Types – Primarily suited to
new-build
construction types
A flexible ventilated system suitable for curved and complex detailed applications
Buildings up to 6 Storeys – suited for unrestricted use
High Rise applications - suitable subject to Alumasc’s high rise policy
Performance
Fully
warranted
system with life expectancy in excess of 30 years
Incorporates air gap via a support frame to give full NHBC compliance.
System provides a cavity to allow airflow and draining to the underlying structure
Fully weather resistant whilst remaining vapour permeable
Allows the fabric of the building to act as a heat store, increasing thermal efficiency
Eliminates cold bridging, condensation and mould growth
Protects structural fabric, limiting movement and thermal shock and freeze-thaw cycles associated with traditional brickwork façades
Highly resistant to impact damage
Rated Class 0 for surface spread of flame
Contributes to sound reduction within external wall construction
Insulation & Finishes
Choice of
insulation
thicknesses and materials, achieving very low U-values
Vertical steel support rails provide a 25mm gap between insulation and structure
Lightweight, through-coloured
render finishes
include ST Silicone and Mineral
Eco-friendly option consisting Mineral Wool or Cork insulation with Mineral render
