What is CESP?
The £350m Community Energy Saving Programme CESP is designed to improve energy efficiency standards and permanently reduce fuel bills in low income households, and is part of the Government’s Home Energy Saving Programme.
- CESP promotes a “whole house” approach, delivered through partnerships between Local Authorities (LAs), Community Groups and Energy Companies
- CESP is funded by Energy Suppliers and Electricity Generators
- 4,500 areas are eligible for CESP in Great Britain
- In the region of 100 schemes (90,000 homes) are expected, saving nearly 2.9m tonnes of CO2 emissions
- Annual average fuel bill savings delivered via CESP are expected to be up to £300 per households
Funding for Solid Wall Insulation SWI can also be sought through the existing CERT & CERT extension Schemes
